For the dough:

. 2 cups all-purpose flour

. 1/2 teaspoon salt

. 1 teaspoon oil

. Water ,as needed

For the filling :

. 1 cup finally chopped vegetables

. 1/2 cup finally chopped onion

. 1 tablespoon grated ginger

. 2 cloves garlic, minced

. 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro

. 1 teaspoon soy sauce

. 1 teaspoon sesame oil

. Salt and pepper to test


  1. Prepare the dough:

. In a mixing bowl, combine the all-porpose flour and salt. Mix well.

. Gradually and water while kneading until a soft, smooth dough is formed.

. Drizzle the oil over the dough and knead again for a few minutes.

. Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for 30 minutes.

2. Make the filling:

. In a separate blow , combine all the finally chopped vegetables, onion, ginger,garlic, cilantro, soy sauce, sesame oil, and salt.

. Mix everything together until well combined. The filling should be moist but not watery.

3. Assembly the momos:

. Take a small protein of the dough and roll it out into a thin, circular shape ( around 3-4 inches in diameter)

. Place a spoonful of the vegetables filling in the center of the dough circle.

. To seal the momos, bring the edges of the dough together, pleating and pinching them to create a beautiful crescent shape. Make sure to seal the momos tightly so that the filling doesn’t spill out during cooking.

4. Steam the momos:

. Line a steamer basket with cabbage leaves or Parchment papers to prevent sticking.

. Arrange the momos in the steamer basket, leaving some space between them from expansion.

. Bring water to a boil in the steamer pot and place the basket over it.

. Cover the steamer with a lid and steam to momos for about 10-12 minutes or until the dough becomes translucent and the filling is cooked.

Sarve and enjoy:

. Carefully remove the momos from the steamer and transfer them to a sarving plate.

. Sarve the momos hot with a side of spicy tomato or chilli sauce.
