. 1 cup dried kala chana ( black chickpeas)
. 2 tablespoon vegetables oil
. 1 onion, finely chopped
. 2 tomatoes , pureed
. 2 cloves of garlic, minced
. 1-inch piece of ginger, grated
. 1 green chilli, slit
. 1 tablespoon cumin seeds
. 1 tablespoon turmeric powder
. 1 tablespoon coriander powder
. 1/2 tablespoon red chili powder
. 1/2 tablespoon gorom masala
. Salt to test
. Fresh cilantro leaves, for garnish
- In a pressure cooker or a large pot, at the soaked drained kala chana along with enough water to cover them. Cook until the chana becomes tender. If using a pressure cooker, cook for about 3-4 whistle, if using a pot, cook for about 45-60 minutes. Drain and set aside .
2. Heat oil in a deep pan or kadhai over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter .
3. Add chopped onions and saute antil golden brown.
4. Add minced garlic, graded ginger and green chillies.
