Echor chingri is a spicy, tangy and mouth-watering recipe that combines the flavor of raw jackfruit and prawns. In this blog, we’ll explore the recipe of echor chingri in detail .

ingredient:

. Raw jackfruit 500 grams

. Prawns 250 grams

. Onions 2 medium size, finely chopped

. Garlic 4-5 clover, finely chopped

. Ginger 1 ince price,grated

. Tomato 1 medium size, finely chopped

. Green chillies 4-5, slit

. Turmeric powder 1 teaspoon

. Cumin powder 1 teaspoon

. Coriander powder 1 teaspoon

. Red Chilli powder 1 teaspoon

. Garam masala powder 1 teaspoon

. Salt as per taste

. Sugar 1 teaspoon

. Mustard 3-4 teaspoon I

. Water 1 cup

instructions:

  1. cut the raw jackfruit in to small cubes and wash them well .

2. Hst mustered oil in a pan and add the rae jackfruit cubes . Fry them until they turn slightly brown. Remove and keep them aside.

3. in the same pan, at the chopped onion and saute until they turn translucent .

4. Add the chopped garlic ,grated ginger,and slit green chillies .saute for 1-2 minutes.

5. Add the chopped tomato and sauté until it turns mushy.

6. Add the turmeric powder, cumin powder,coriander powder,red chili powder,garam masala powder, salt ,and sugar.mix well and sauté for a minute .

7. Add the fried raw jackfruit and mix well with the masala.

8. Add the Prawns and mix well. sauté for 2-3 minutes.

9. Add a cup of water and mix well. Cover the pan with a lid and let it cook for 15- 20 minutes on medium flame.

10. Once the jackfruit and prawns are cooked, remove the lid and let it cook on high flame for 2-3 minutes to thicken the gravy .

11. Switch off the flame and garnish with fresh coriander leaves .

your echor chingri is now ready to be served hot with steamed rice or Pulao.

tips:

. While cutting the raw jackfruit ,apply oil on your hands to avoid the stickiness.

. Make sure to fry the raw jackfruit cubes well before adding them to the masala.

. Do not overcook the prawns as they tend to become rabbery and tough .

. Adjust the price level as per your teste performance.

. Use fresh and good quality prawns for the best flavor.
